Diversified Experience

NURATEC has a very diverse set of capabilities with primary focus areas in Nuclear Waste Management and Project Management, including radioactive, hazardous, and industrial waste operations, transportation, environment, safety, and health, and quality control. Managed projects consist of TRU, MLLW, LLW, and high risk (classified, fissile, & remote-handled) waste storage, characterization, processing, RCRA LDR treatment, transuranic and low-level mixed waste certification, transportation, and disposal. NURATEC has an extensive understanding of WIPP, NNSS, EnergySolutions, Perma-Fix, EMWMF CERCLA Cell, WCS, and Y-12 S&I landfills waste acceptance criteria, DOEO435.1 Radioactive Waste Management, RCRA and TSCA regulations, Y-12 WETF and ORNL wastewater treatment, and project baseline management. Breadth of experience encompasses CCP characterization, certification, & shipping, oversight of nuclear facility management and operations, DSA/TSR development and controls, NMC&A program controls, facility and cyber security, operational readiness reviews, RCRA permitted facility management and closure, and CERCLA environmental remediation.  NURATEC has supported a wide-range of operations at the TRU Waste Processing Center (TWPC), Y-12 National Security Complex, Oak Ridge National Laboratory, East Tennessee Technology Park, Argonne National Lab, Paducah GDP, Portsmouth GDP, and Fernald.  Project Management experience has included routine interface with the client management team, DOE (CBFO/WIPP, OREM, and NNSA), and external stakeholders (TDEC, EPA, and DNFSB). NURATEC also has extensive experience with the development and adjustment of production plans, performance based incentives, productivity improvements, compliance agreements, life-cycle baseline estimates, management of waste tracking and regulatory compliance, technical support for waste processing improvements, expansion of waste processing capabilities, and proposal development.
